Dave's Lullaby 20606667

I created my lullaby in Garage band using its software instruments. For the bass line I used a grand piano with a punchy attack however had to play with the velocity a bit to get it right. I added a peak limiter to stop any unwanted peaking and compressed the instrument to bring the dynamics closer together. I then went on to add an echo effect and some reverb. I played with the echo to get it on the offbeat.
The melody was also a grand piano with some echo and reverb added. I wanted to keep a simple but catchy melody with some variation for the change in mood.
For the counter point I used a smooth clavichord instrument. I wanted to use a melody with more sustaining notes but keeping with some of the familiar notes from the main melody. The clavichord had some chorus added and some treble reduction to give it a softer sound.
I wanted by whole piece to have an airy dream like feel to it. This is why I used a lot of the echo and reverb effects to created a lot of space in the music.
