Hi it's Hannah

When i was researching nursery rhymes and childrens poetry I found that most verses were up beat and happy and this is not
desired when writing a lullaby. I find it really difficult to try and change music when I know the original, although I have no
intentions of plagarising peoples work it just kinda happens.
I used Logic's MIDI programming function and composed the melody for the 1st verse. When I had worked the tempo and
time sinature out i wrote the lyrics, which are simple, but isn't that part of the charm of a lullaby? My lullaby is in the key of G
and the time signature 3/4. When I started putting together the basic melody the key of G just happened. I started writing in 4/4 time and i felt that the rhythm was not calming enough. I tried 6/8 also before deciding on using 3/4. This rhythm, I feel is more soothing.
When i had finished the melody line my partner dug me out his old music theory chord charts which helped with the base line and then I added extras and this is it! I Scored the vocal part but haven't worked out how to upload it yet. Here are my lyrics...

In Your Dreams.

I will always be there,
Safe in your dreams,
Safe in your dreams.

When you open weary eyes
I will be there,
Never be scared.

When the storm rages o'r head,
I will be there,
Never be scared.

When you wake and look at me,
Open your eyes,
full of surprise.

When the morning comes fresh and new
I will be there,
My baby fair.

Enjoy!
