Lullaby
Here is my lullaby.
I used logic to create my lullaby which is based on Humpty Dumpty.
Doesn't really sound anything like Humpty Dumpty, but its the first thing that came into my head when creating it.

20635985 - Lullaby
I based my lullaby on the kids story 'Wolstencrift the bear'by Karen Lewis, (http://www.magickeys.com/books/wolstencroft/index.html) I used reason to create my lullaby which i found difficult due to reasons sounds/patches are very blunt and i found it hard to make them soft/smooth although i tried my best. "The Runaway Bunny"

For the lullaby i choose the children's book "The Runaway Bunny" by Margaret Wise Brown, 1942. The book is about: A mother rabbit tells of the lengths she will go to find her baby, who threatens to run away. "If you run away, I will run after you," she says. The baby bunny imagines all sorts of escapes, but realizes he will never be able to leave his home and his mother.
I used Garage Band on my MacBook to make this song.

Luke's lullaby
Were given the assignment of producing a lullaby within certain parameters. We were asked to make a melody, a harmony line, a baseline and counterpart line. To make this lullaby, I used a mixture of 2 piano tracks and 2 flute tracks. One of the piano tracks has a 'strings' effect for a soft ambient effect.
I based my lullaby on a Greek poem about a baby sleeping on a cloud.

Lullaby - Jake Style
So I based my lullaby on Noddy. Noddy was this little dude who drove a red and yellow car, even though he was blatantly underage.
I decided to compose my entire peice on the piano because I felt that many an instrument would be more confusing than sleep inducing.
My peice began with a bass and melody line. I equalised both parts so that they were out of each other's way, and added reverd to make them more full sounding.
Half way through the peice, the counterpoint melody begins. I decided to pan this part to the extreme right, and pan the melody line to the extreme left. I felt that this would add a sence of seperation to each part. To emphasise this, I gave the counterpoint melody line its own equalising and added alot more reverb to it. I hoped that this would create a kind of shadow undertone for the main melody, and I think that this is acheived.
The key was Cmaj, and I created the tune on Logic.

Damian's Lullaby
Hi all
My lullaby is based on the comic book hero Conan the Barbarian created by Robert E. Howard and i love film with Arnold Schwarzenegger too.
The lullaby was done in my home studio using logic pro 6.4.3, and is in E major scale, overall I feel I have captured the essense of the comics and the film, leave some comments let me know what you think.

Hi,
We are Dan, Nuno and Ian and this is our assignment podcast. We've made it in a mock radio programme kind of way with a presenter interviewing two of the producers and also we have idents and the radio 'compression' to top it all off. In the podcast we discuss the song 'Leave Me Alone' which was recorded by us this year. We go into some depth about how it was created, the methods used in writing and recording and also our influences on the track. We also preview the remixes that each of us have done of the track.
Enjoy!

Hi,
This is our groups podcast on one of the most recent tracks we recorded in the studio.
The artist was very amusing to work with and has some very good musical skills ranging from singing to playing the guitar and keyboard very well.
In this podcast we have covered how we recorded the song to the instruments and their sound and also how we mixed it down and the pros and cons of how we did it.
It gives a great insight into how different people view the ways in which to record music and how to get the best sound out of an artist..
Enjoy our podcast

I had a LITTLE trouble uploading my mp3 file. The links on my blog don't work. Sorry.
Hi it's Hannah
When i was researching nursery rhymes and childrens poetry I found that most verses were up beat and happy and this is not
desired when writing a lullaby. I find it really difficult to try and change music when I know the original, although I have no
intentions of plagarising peoples work it just kinda happens.
I used Logic's MIDI programming function and composed the melody for the 1st verse. When I had worked the tempo and
time sinature out i wrote the lyrics, which are simple, but isn't that part of the charm of a lullaby? My lullaby is in the key of G
and the time signature 3/4. When I started putting together the basic melody the key of G just happened. I started writing in 4/4 time and i felt that the rhythm was not calming enough. I tried 6/8 also before deciding on using 3/4. This rhythm, I feel is more soothing.
When i had finished the melody line my partner dug me out his old music theory chord charts which helped with the base line and then I added extras and this is it! I Scored the vocal part but haven't worked out how to upload it yet. Here are my lyrics...
In Your Dreams.
I will always be there,
Safe in your dreams,
Safe in your dreams.
When you open weary eyes
I will be there,
Never be scared.
When the storm rages o'r head,
I will be there,
Never be scared.
When you wake and look at me,
Open your eyes,
full of surprise.
When the morning comes fresh and new
I will be there,
My baby fair.
Enjoy!

20511684-Indian Lyallby
I have based my lyallby on an Indian Lyallby Called Chandamama in English it is called The Moon.
I used Logic to create the tune for this lyallby, where the instrument I used is a vibaphone, where it sounds like bells or the tapping on a glass.
Here are the lyrics of the lyallby in hindi and translated into english.
I hope you enjoy.
Chandamama dur ke, puye pakaayen boor ke aap khaayen thaali mein, munne ko de pyaali mein
pyaali gayi toot munna gaya rooth laayenge nayi pyaaliya baja baja ke taaliyaan munne ko manaayenge ham doodh malaayi khaayenge, chandamama .
English Translation:
pyaali gayi toot munna gaya rooth laayenge nayi pyaaliya baja baja ke taaliyaan munne ko manaayenge ham doodh malaayi khaayenge, chandamama .
English Translation:
The moon is far away, making something delicious for the baby to eat, the baby will eat by himself in the plate and we will give the baby food in the bowl.
The bowl is broken and the baby gets upset ,we will bring some more bowls to, make the baby happy and we will clap our hands to cheer the baby up and give the baby milk and butter to eat, the moon.

Graham's Lullaby
Heres my lullaby
I used my home setup to create my lullaby. This consists of a usb audio interface and Cubase LE Software on my home pc. The instrumentation of the track includes a guitar melody a guitar harmony with a bass guitar bass line. Kind of unconventional for a lullaby but i thought i'd try something a little different, as i'm sure instruments like the glockenspiel will be slightly overused in this assignment.
The pictures are of the guitar used (and the bass is in the background at an odd angle) and my usb interface.
Enjoy :)

Dave's Lullaby 20606667

I created my lullaby in Garage band using its software instruments. For the bass line I used a grand piano with a punchy attack however had to play with the velocity a bit to get it right. I added a peak limiter to stop any unwanted peaking and compressed the instrument to bring the dynamics closer together. I then went on to add an echo effect and some reverb. I played with the echo to get it on the offbeat.
The melody was also a grand piano with some echo and reverb added. I wanted to keep a simple but catchy melody with some variation for the change in mood.
For the counter point I used a smooth clavichord instrument. I wanted to use a melody with more sustaining notes but keeping with some of the familiar notes from the main melody. The clavichord had some chorus added and some treble reduction to give it a softer sound.
I wanted by whole piece to have an airy dream like feel to it. This is why I used a lot of the echo and reverb effects to created a lot of space in the music.

Transformers lullaby.

Ok so I based my lullaby on the kiddie's book transformers. Yes it is a children's story i have proof of that on a old VHS :)
Well I thought about the sounds that a transformer makes, and looked at previous transformer music etc.
Then I thought well I have to make this a lullaby, so i thought about the sounds needed and the tonality and most of all the key.
This is not your average lullaby but i know i would sleep to it.

Hope you like.

Mat's Lullaby
Well here it is, my lullaby. As we had to base our piece on a children's story I decided that my basis would be 'The Owl and the Pussycat' by Edward Lear. I know that this is tecnically a poem as opposed to a 'story', yet it is a most enchanting piece of literature that I myself used to love and constantly read again and again as a child...
The Owl and the Pussycat
The Owl and the Pussycat went to seaIn a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are, you are, you are,
What a beautiful Pussy you are."
Pussy said to the Owl "You elegant fowl,
How charmingly sweet you sing.
O let us be married, too long we have tarried;
But what shall we do for a ring?"
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows,
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose, his nose, his nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.
"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling your ring?"
Said the Piggy, "I will"
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon.
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand.
They danced by the light of the moon, the moon, the moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.
With regards to my composition I decided to try and replicate the song that the owl played to the pussycat; yet without any vocals, as both time and facilities were limited.
Of course, I had to use a guitar as this was how the owl serenaded the pussycat. This meant that I had a decent excuse for commandering my father's beautiful Ovation, as I needed an electric-acoustic guitar that could be plugged in and recorded. I wanted to use the guitar for all three parts that we had to complete. It worked well for the melody and harmony parts, yet was to prove insubstantial for the bassline. This therefore was composed in MIDI.
/Final%20lullaby%2020631355.mp3
My composition does not sound like most people's traditional idea of a lullaby, yet is a simple, gentle piece of guitar-based music. I certianly believe that this piece of music reflects the other-worldly fantasy as depicted in Edward Lear's original poem.

Hello all!
This is my lullaby :D
I created it in logic. There is the 'main' riff at the start and end of the lulluby. The middle 'bridge' part if it were, is the counterpoint.
It is based apon the short children's story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'
Muchos love and all that jazz

Lullaby Assignment - 20430834

For our final assignment in this module our task was to create a lullaby for a childrens short story. Our lullaby had to include three components : a melody line, a bass line and a counterpoint, in which should be no more than a minute in length.
I First of all developed the initial idea for my lullaby in the sequencer called Reason. However i developed the idea further in Pro Tools due myself learning how use MIDI in Pro Tools and i believed that the piano patch in Pro Tools was softer in iits nature than in Reason.
I decided to base my lullaby on a childrens short story about a mother's unconditional love to her child. But i also took some inspiration from listening to Classic FM on my phone which was very useful indeed.
Anyway Here is the lullaby:

Finding and deleting itunes removed songs from music folder
Im upgrading to a new mac, so moving everything across from my old one. The new machine is a laptop so theres a little bit less hard drive space.
After clearing out as much as I could from apps, docs etc. I remembered itunes.
Now when you delete a song in itunes it asks you if you want to 'remove' it from itune this is basically removing it from the library, however the file is still left in your music folder. The other option is to 'delete' the file from your hard drive.
In the past I have removed files rather than delete them as im was paranoid incase i needed to find them again one day.
However now I have a lot of audio files that are not used in my library but sitting around in my music folder taking up hard drive space.
Im looking for a way to select all the removed itune files in the music folder and delete them completely. At the moment iv looked at software options but as far as I can see there are none.
If you have any ideas please let me know.
